This is a simple vertical engine with the engine bracket mounted on the firebox.
The vertical boiler is 55mm diameter x 77mm high. It has a single flue tube and is heated by a 3 wick meths burner. The top of the boiler has a safety valve and whistle.
Steam is fed directly to the back of the port face of a single acting oscillating cylinder. Bore is 8mm and stroke 21mm. It is mounted in a simple but rather decorative folded brass bracket. The crankshaft has a simple crank at one end and a 54mm diameter spoked flywheel at the other. Next to the flywheel is an 8.25mm diameter pulley.
As acquired, the original base was missing and I temporarily mounted the firebox on a plain brass flat base. I later found a donor engine with a good base and suspect boiler, so I could provide this engine with a correct pressed steel base. This model was originally supplied with one of two alternative bases; one cast and the other pressed steel. The firebox has tabs on the bottom which implies that it originally had a pressed steel base.
The whistle bush had become unsoldered and was completely loose. Fortunately, the whistle was still attached so the bush did not fall down into the boiler and I was able to resolder it.
